A great place within easy walking distance of food, drink & fun. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay.
We really enjoyed staying in the Mississippi District. Walk out the door and Albina Press
coffee shop is at the corner. Walk two blocks the other way and find Proust and the food court. We had a lot of fun and were very comfortable here. All set up for our newest family member (10 month old) to visit. Easy access and parking. We would stay there again.
A really lovely place to stay. There was plenty of space for 5 adults and 4 children. A lovely house, clean and comfortable. The styling was great, with lots of nice touches. Beds comfy. Would recommend this place for a stay in Portland.
Really enjoyed our visit to Portland and a big part of it was having this house as our home base. It was conveniently located near restaurants in the Mississippi district and a short drive to the city and airport. If I travel back to Portland with a big group I will definitely book this house again.
We stayed here for several days in both homes and couldn’t have had a better experience! The home was clean, quiet, well stocked and close to everything we needed, definitely would stay here again and recommend this to anyone I know,
We rented both properties for out of town relatives to join us for our daughter's wedding weekend. Both houses are quiet, very clean, decorated with great care, and very well appointed. We had the best time and the kids liked going back and forth between the houses. The houses are really close to all of the fun and food on Mississippi Ave. We do a lot of VRBOing, and this property is at the top of our experiences.
Firstly Michelle was an amazing host! We stayed here with 6 women and everyone loved it. The location was amazing, so many restaurants and things to do down Mississippi Ave. Loved sitting on the front porch during the day and evening. The house was adorable and suited everyone's needs. I would stay here again for sure!
Location is amazing, just a quick two block walk to Mississippi Street and all the wonderful bars and restaurants. Very comfortable house, great for a group. Beds were super comfy and the showers were extremely spacious. The Mexican food vendor in the lot next door is amazing, the coffee shop on the corner is wonderful, and there is lots of walking adventures to be had. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great neighborhood experience in Portland.
This location had everything we needed and more.
For starters, there was a hand written note welcoming us to the house....such a nice touch. The house also had so much character with great decor giving the place a warm feel. Even the towels that they provided we soft a fluffy (my wife’s favorite thing). We had plenty of sleeping and lounging space for the eight of us that stayed as well.
The area was perfect! There is a coffee shop 1 block away, a taco truck 50 yards away, a market a few blocks away, and several bars and restaurants all within walking distance. This street has something for everyone!
When we come back to Portland, this is the only house I will consider...not to mention it was only a 20 Uber to and from the Airport.
This house was perfect for our girls weekend! The location was perfect, Mississippi Ave is a super fun spot to hang out, and it was around a 10-15 dollar uber ride to get anywhere else!
Nice and well presented old refurbed house with plenty of modern touches and a light and surprisingly airy, good-sized, 1st floor living area. We were 4 adults and found the space just fine. Location is great and right by some great entertainment spots.
We had a great time at the Front Break property! Great neighborhood, good set-up for our girls’ trip.
Very roomy house and great location to use as a base for exploring all the neighborhoods of Portland.
Hosted a bachelorette party here and it was a blast! Great neighborhood with so much to do, close to downtown, driving distance to Willamette Valley for vineyard tour. There was a very small issue, but it got taken care of right away with no questions asked! Highly recommend staying here! Can't wait to go back
We had a fabulous stay here on a girls weekend in Portland. Beds were super comfy....amazing walk- in showers...and everything you could need in a home away from home. We were able to have an early check in also. The house is ideally location for walking to bars and restaurants. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!
The house is in a great location for exploring the Mississippi District by foot. It was a good size for our 3 grown children and spouses and 1 grandchild, and the kitchen was well equipped to suite our needs. (I’m not sure about asking renters to start the laundry as I personally don’t like to leave our house with the washing machine or dryer going. Also, it is another extra for getting out of the house early when anticipating a long drive home.) We would stay again if the opportunity arises.
This home is exactly as it was shown in the photos and description! It was clean, well stocked with nice amenities and centrally located to everything. Whitney, the property manager quickly responded to any questions we had. Would definitely book this lovely home again if we ever come back to the Portland area!
The home is not only beautiful, comfortable and welcoming but in a great location in Portland as well. We had a rather large group, but found the home more than spacious enough -- even with all of us around the dinner table. Whitney was also super responsive, and helpful!
Group of 15 professionals shared the entire property. Interior design of Front and Rear Breaks were very welcoming and like walking into your own home.
Beds are comfortable and got the much needed rest after attending day long hands on training all week long.
Looking forward to booking again for next years conference.
We came with a large group of 10 to see a concert, and had an absolutely amazing time! Super comfy, and within walking distance of any nightlife/food we could have wanted. Check out times are super strict so make sure to be up and ready to go! Besides that, absolutely 10/10 time and will most definitely be coming back to stay, and probably renting the back house as well!
I would absolutely recommend this rental! It’s clean, homey, comfortable and super centralized! Close to coffee and the BEST authentic Mexican joint I have ever eaten at. There was plenty of parking as well! Would definitely stay again!
Super cute and very convenient to great bars and restaurants.
Believe me when I say when you see these houses you feel like you just stepped foot into some sort of reality tv show!! They are amazing!!!!! Words can’t describe how awesome these pads are!!! We rented both the front and rear break for a guys weekend and it houses 15 of us no problem at all! Plenty of room for personal space and yet enough room to have all of us together comfortably! We honestly can’t wait to come back!!!
Very central to Portland.fun neighborhood
We had a full house, our adult children and their spouses and friends from 3 states all together for our epic Portlandia adventure. We had a blast. The house was more than sufficient for all of us, great location, walking access to shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. We ate breakfast in the home and had a special meal out. The beds are comfy, bathrooms modern and clean, and great gathering spaces inside and out, so our group could be together or have privacy. There was ample offsite parking, about a block away and 1 designated space. Highly recommended this place for a family get-together. We are family orientated, really enjoy one another's company. Because of the proximity to the other rental, I don't think louder parties are appropriate for this home. I felt it was more of a family gathering place, than a party house. I appreciate that, cause I don't like noisy locations.
We loved our time in the front break house! It was spacious and had everything we needed! Also, you can’t beat the location! It was so close to amazing food and shops! We would return again!
Came down with friends for one night to watch a Trailblazers game. Proximity to Moda was close enough for a cheap Uber ride. And there are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend this property for families or small group trips.
We rented both front and rear break with friends for our wedding. It was everything we hoped it would be. The owners were great and the properties are wonderful.
We had a really great experience!! Loved the layout, decor and location.
Parking was a bit hairy having to park in the yellow square. Also, if there were actually 10 people staying there, I see parking becoming a huge problem with multiple cars.
One other item to note was the hot water. There were only 3 of us staying in the house, and our showers were staggered, but by the time it was my turn the water was completely cold. I can't imagine what that would have been like if we had a full house! So just something to consider 🙂
Six adults two toddlers and a 7 year old had a great time at front break! Bars, restaurants, and coffee just minutes away walking or driving! House is well equipped. Just a couple of minutes off the 5. Very convenient!
It's very cute inside too!
My friends and I stayed here for a weekend and it was amazing! We all slept comfortably, kitchen and laundry came in handy. We made breakfast every single day and the kitchen had all that we needed. The location is very close to the all the restaurants on Mississippi Ave. The house is very clean and orderly. We will definitely stay here again.
Great location in Portland with all the necessary accessories. Thanks for the awesome accommodations!
Great place to stay for husband and I, two adult children with spouses, and 4 month old grandchild while in Portland for our other daughter's wedding celebration. The AC was welcome as it was a warm week and also allowed us to keep things closed up against the ash from the fires in the gorge. The neighborhood has everything one needs within easy walking distance; namely coffee, food and beer. While we did not do much cooking on this trip, the kitchen was well equipped. The out door spaces provide lots of room to hang out and eat outside (weather permitting) and the ample and comfortable seating inside along with comfy beds made for a cozy stay. Crib and strollers and playpen make this a particularly nice option for families with little ones. There were even diapers in the downstairs closet.
Only complaint came from a light (and late) sleeper in one of the downstairs bedrooms regarding the noise of people walking overhead in the living room. While the situation was the same in the other downstairs room, it was remedied with the use of a white noise playlist on Spotify. The four month old was undisturbed.
Our family celebrated my husband's 30th birthday in Portland and this house was a great fit. It's close to great areas. We rented 7 adult bikes and had no problems storing them at the house. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a fun district of Portland and we loved that it was very walkable. It was obvious that a lot of thought was put into this home when it was remodeled. There is even a book on the dining table which shows the entire before and after remodeling project!
We rented both of these spaces and some nights had as many as 18 people. We weren't cramped. Of course the outdoor courtyard was terrific and the week we were there the weather cooperated for its use.
We had a fantastic stay at this house this summer. Our group of 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 3-6) were more than happy and comfortable. Owners put a lot of thought into all their details and are very accessible. We had a small issue with smoke detectors going off in the middle of the night (though no fire), and they responded promptly and even gifted us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. We would definitely stay there again!
We are a family of seven that stayed at this property for two nights. We really enjoyed it! The location is great and the house is very spacious and very clean. It's nicely furnished and decorated and had everything we needed. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants.
Had a great stay with a group and the rental was perfect! Had everything we needed and was super comfortable!
Only suggestion might be more hooks or towel rod in downstairs bathroom. Found wet towels and sheets in washer as we were preparing to do a load before leaving.
We just loved our stay here! We had a large group and rent the back house as well and it was perfect for us. The owners have done such an incredible job with the house and there were binders with house info, local info on restaurants, bars, tourist spots, ect. We had everything we needed! The beds were comfortable and the house was well maintained and spotless. The location was great too!! We would definitely stay here again!
Everything was nice, clean and comfortable. The only inconvenience was that the A/C did not provide enough heat for the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Besides that we had a wonderful family reunion.
My husband, mother-in-law, and 4 kids (including 1 toddler) had a great time! The location was great so we could easily walk to the food trucks & restaurants nearby. House had great amenities including an outdoor spot where the kids like to play darts. You can tell the neighborhood is up and coming in that there are some rough patches, but we didn't mind it at all.
Definitely "hot & chic" and much more--clean, comfortable, close to everything.
Although we only stayed one night...beautiful place, central location with a lot of food, beverage and entertainment options. Easy transaction and entry. Owners very responses and generous...left us some goodies during our stay. Highly recommend this home if you are staying the central Portland area.
Had an amazing stay at the Front Break property. The location was great and very walkable. The space and amenities were more than enough for the weekend. Loved the decorations and design throughout the property. Will definitely consider coming back to one of these properties for my next Portland visit! Very easy to coordinate and offered more flexibility/space than a hotel.
Such a great property and location! we had a wonderful time staying here. Will come back and stay again!
This house was perfect for our trip! Great location near all the fun of the Mississippi district. Large open floor plan, big rooms, and a great kitchen. Easy check in and check out! Had a flawless stay. Will totally come back when we are in Portland.
Our group of 8 had the best time in Portland. The house was in a fantastic location; walking distance to coffee each morning, restaurants and bars.
The hard work put in to refurbishing this house is evident and the owners go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. We felt welcome the moment that we stepped inside. Would highly recommend this house to Portland visitors and hope to make a trip back soon, ourselves!
House was super nice!! would recommend
Had to travel to Portland for business with a colleague and all the hotels were booked. This place was perfect! We each had our own floor and bathroom, the beds were comfy, the dining area was perfect as a work space. The next morning we headed next door to a great little coffee shop for caffeine and baked treats. We may be doing this instead of hotels from now on! I should add that this would definitely be my first choice if I was coming here on vacation with my family.
Our family really enjoyed spending a few days in the house. The convenience of being within walking distance to so many bars, coffee shops and restaurants was a real plus. The house itself was quaint, comfortable and a lot of fun.
We cannot wait to come back to Portland and spend more nights here!
We were in town for our daughters wedding. We rented Front Break and Rear Break. It worked our perfectly for our families. The homes are put together so beautifully and they had everything we needed. We loved being able to walk down the street to cafes, bars and shops. The indoor and outdoor space made it easy for us all to be together. We would definitely recommend staying here. There are only a couple of things I would recommend to the owners. These are very minor issues, just thought I would mention them. I didn't notice this myself but the family members staying in the lower level of Front Break said there were no closets in those two rooms. Maybe an armoire could be added. A few more darts for the outside dart board would be nice. Also, a griddle for Rear Break would be nice. Again, we loved these homes and would highly recommend them.
The house was perfect for our weekend escape to Portland. The location couldn't be better. The house was clean when we arrived and was exactly as described in the posting. The manager of the property was great to work with and she answered all of my questions very quickly. Thank you!
We had a great time. Check-in and check-out were easy. Plenty of room for gathering and playing games. Comfortable beds. Great location. What more could you ask for?
This rental property exceeded our expectations. The house was so super cute and cozy; the bench dining table was perfect for our big group! The location was also great - 10-15 minute Uber to downtown and walking distance to tons of restaurants and bars! Very easy and comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend 🙂
This is a delightful house with great space; a living area with state of the art TV on both the main and lower floor. It had a high chair and crib and toys for children The house was clean with comfortable furniture. The four bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and good storage. The showers on both floors are amazing. The small play area outside could not be used because it rained every day. The owners were attentive over a unforeseen traffic related power outage. The washer and dryer were efficient.
It is walking distance from some great eateries and bars and pubs. Getting around was easy with entrance to an interstate nearby.
The only negative was the poorly supplied kitchen. It was missing basic equipment such as spatulas, wooden spoons, whisk and/or hand held mixer, potato masher, pitchers of any size, mixing bowls, serving bowls, muffin tins, rolling pin, any pan to cook meat in the oven and containers for flour, sugar, etc. The frying pans were well past their prime. We could not make cookies or cupcakes with the grandchildren and cooking a Christmas turkey dinner was a challenge.
Only one towel and one wash cloth was supplied per person and one hand towel for each bathroom and three tea towels in total with no dish cloth in the kitchen which meant laundry had to be done almost daily. There were extra towels in the closet with a note not to use them.
There was only one garbage container, one composting bin and one recyclables bin for two properties which was inadequate, especially at Christmas.
We really liked the house and would recommend it to people , especially those who are planning to use take-out or to eat out.
The house was perfect; clean, warm, well-appointed. We were so happy to enter and feel right at home. Everything we could have wanted was thought of - even an iphone charger with an adapter for the most recent model! So great. Beds were comfortable, sheets were high quality, towels were plush, decor was beautiful. The house is in an excellent location with lots of bars and restaurants and shops within blocks. We had a terrific time and will definitely want to come back again. Thank you!
The proximity to the cool strip of retail and restaurants along Mississippi Avenue makes this location ideal for keeping a group of people entertained. Front Break is nicely designed with spacious gathering areas and ample natural lighting. Modern and clean furnishings offer a cool contemporary vibe. Both bedrooms and restrooms are spacious with comfortable linens. Instructions to get in and operate the house were easy and accurate. Recommendations to nearby restaurants and features were very helpful. Property Manager was accessible via phone and responsive. Overall, this is great house located in a very cool neighborhood.
Outstanding! There's no better word to describe this home, neighborhood, city, property manager, and owners. Eight of us traveled from Dallas for a long weekend in Portland, a city that was completely unfamiliar to us. What a blast! The home was perfect -- eclectic, fun, clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for our visit. The location was excellent and the binder of favorite spots to visit was extremely helpful. Also, the coffee shop next door ... Albina Press ... had the best cappuccino ever. We can't wait to get back!
A spacious, welcoming spot to call home base whilst exploring the city! Bedrooms were cozy and comfortable, community rooms and kitchen were clean, well-kept and both warm and inviting. Highlights: a notebook filled with answers to any questions we might have had, a bottle of wine upon arrival, and the fluffiest bed upon which I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping. A convenient location to dining (Gravy, Mac! Sweedeedee and Equinox are favorites), drinking (Prost and Interurban are great) and shopping (Paxton Gate is a less than 10 minute walk!), and with Portland's top notch public transportation, you are only a hop, skip, and a jump to museums and gardens and all of the other wonderful things that the city has to offer. We very much enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend this lovely space to other travelers.
The property manager welcomed our group by remaining available to be sure we got to/in the house without incident. When we showed up it was breeze to gain entry. The house itself was perfect for our group. Since this place fits 10, we found it to be exceptionally spacious for our group of 5. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you can expect from this place: super clean, updated in every way, and well equipped for any type of experience. While at the house we enjoyed having all of the different seating areas to hang out/drink coffee/plan the day/etc. Since we were lucky enough to have a chef in our group we also made good use of the kitchen one night to cook up some fresh fish. BTW we got the fish from a helpful place called Flying Fish Co. The neighborhood had everything one could want within walking distance: a delicious breakfast spot (Gravy), lunch spot (the taco truck right next door), food truck park, dinner spot (Prost), coffee shop, and convenience store. We originally were going to cook breakfast at the house every morning, but found it was just easier to walk to any one of the places around us. This place is also well located with respect to the whole of Portland. We found that we were never further than 10 minutes away from nearly everything in town. We used Uber a couple of nights to go out and never spend more than $10 each way. Overall: fantastic experience, would certainly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay! The home is in a great location with a really good coffee shop a few doors down & many delicious places to eat within walking distance. The home was spotless & fully equipped with just about everything you would need. Really super option for families - I noticed there was a high chair in a closet, toys for the kids, & a stroller for getting around town. Highly recommend!
This place was absolutely adorable! It was spacious and comfortable, and we loved the design of all of the rooms. The hosts were super great to work with and very responsive. The house is just at the end of Mississippi Ave, which was a great location for checking out all of the local shops, coffee bars, and restaurants. We would love to stay here again if we come back to Portland.
